Glass City Wedding at Toledo Museum of Art and Glass Pavilion - Claire and Brandon

Claire and Brandon’s Toledo Museum of Art Wedding and Glass Pavilion reception was the perfect balance of classic, modern, whimsy and elegance thanks in part to the architecture and artwork that served as a backdrop for the couple’s beautiful day.

The wedding ceremony took place in the art museum’s Great Gallery with the couple and their guests surrounded by classic works of art. After the ceremony, they descended the steps of the classically columned art museum to a cool and colorful slinky salute. Claire and Brandon then led their guests across the street past an Alexander Calder sculpture into the Glass Pavilion – a postmodernist dream – a curved glass structure that allows the interior and exterior of the building to blend seamlessly. Billy balls added a perfect pop of yellow to the sleek and monochromatic pavilion.

The museum was founded in 1901 by Edward Libbey, owner of  The Libbey Glass Company. Toledo is known as Glass City and that history was infused into the wedding day with a glass blowing exhibit during the cocktail hour. As the sunny fall day turned into a cool fall night, the party glowed warmly through the shimmering glass.

Hollywood Glamour at Masonic Temple - Annette and Scott

We had the pleasure of photographing Annette and Scott’s glamorous Masonic Temple wedding at the Masonic Temple Detroit. The building’s architecture married perfectly with Annette’s old Hollywood theme and it didn’t hurt that she was movie star gorgeous.

The neo-gothic temple is the world’s largest Masonic Temple with over 1,000 rooms. Scott and Annette chose the main chapel – a smaller scale replica of Westminster Abbey for their ceremony and the ornate, Italian-styled Crystal Ballroom for the reception.

Annette’s bouquet of soft pink peonies and a dessert table filled with pink jelly beans, cake pops, meringues and macaroons complemented the soft pink glow and gold accents of the ballroom. The Hollywood theme was executed flawlessly by Laura Davis and Amber Frawley of Frosted Pink Events.

The couple entertained their guest celebrity-style as they walked the red carpet to have their portrait taken while everyone danced the night away under the shimmering chandeliers.

Winter Wedding - Vanessa and Paul

Baby, it's cold outside! But not inside the paneled walls of the Grosse Pointe War Memorial's Alger House where the room was filled with love and warmth for Vanessa and Paul's Christmas-time wedding.

Birmingham Wedding - Katie and Pat

Katie and Pat's marquee wedding (get it? marquee?) was a sophisticated retro affair that captured the couple's style. From Katie's unique ankle length wedding dress to the mix-and-match flower vases that adorned the tables at the reception at the Village Club in Bloomfield Hills, the whole wedding oozed style.

Farm Wedding - Rebecca and Dan

Dan and Rebecca were married on the bride’s family farm in Bluffton, Ohio. A century old barn and a fruit tree tied with ribbons set the scene for the May afternoon. It was a perfect day as the morning clouds cleared out just before the start of the ceremony and an afternoon of blue skies turned into a starlit night. Guests danced, mingled or took turns at the photo booth that Rebecca and Dan, both photojournalists, had set-up.

Wing Lake Wedding - Brandi and Neil

A beautiful fall day was the perfect complement to Brandi and Neil’s beautiful outdoor wedding at Wing Lake in Bloomfield Hills. The day was filled with simple touches that were both casual and elegant and reflected the couple's unique style.
